One of the great things about the iphone is being able to use Skype. If you had a Skype account and have a WIFI or 3G network you can use the VOIP (voice over internet protocol) feature to call out. Because of this AT&T has banned Skype from making calls using it’s 3G data network.

But can you bypass this by jailbreaking your phone and installing voipover3g.

How to install voipover3g

Step 1: After jailbreaking your phone then open cydia

Step 2: Do a search for voipover3g

Step 3: Select VoIPover3G and install then confirm

Step 4: Restart Spring Board

Before unlocking your 3GS running iPhone OS 3.0 please read the important note.

* This guide is only for iPhone 3GS (don’t not do this for your iphone 3G or 2G)
* Make sure you backup all your data before you start.

Here is the step-by-step guide to unlocking your iPhone 3GS using purplesn0w:

Step 1:

You have to jailbreak the iphone
- download http://purplera1n.com/
- run the program and you “make it ra1n”

Step 2:

* After you have jailbroken your phone get on a Wi-Fi network (or any type of internet access with phone)

* Note* If you are on a T-mobile network or any carrier without 3G support then, please disable the 3G service before proceeding.
Tap Settings icon > Go to General > Go to Network > Turn OFF the Enable 3G option.

* Once you have internet access run “freeze”

* install Cydia you might have to power your phone and back up again for Cydia to show up

Step 3: Run Cydia wait for updates and use user graphic interface.

* Press Manage at the bottom of the screen

* Press on option Sources

* Press Edit (top right corner)

* Press Add (top left)

* type in http://apt.geohot.com the press add source

* the home button then go back in to Cydia

* Do a search for “com.geohot.purplesn0w” by pressing the search button in the bottom left corner

* install com.geohot.purplesn0w

* Now restart your phone.

Congratulation!!!! You should now be able to insert any SIM card you want in your newly unlocked iphone
